There’s a pedal for almost every sound possible from flanger to volume control and chorus to acoustic modelers. Whatever you’re after, there’s sure to be a pedal for it. The famed pedal company of Line 6 have a brilliant line of pedals called the Line 6 DL4 Delay Modeler pedals. Here’s some information about them.
Line 6’s DL4
Coming out in 2000, the DL4 contains sixteen delay models based on other famed delay boxes, such as the EP-1 Echoplex. As such, it’s superb for tuning into the exact setting you want to match your playing style or song you’re playing. Furthermore, it’s not limited to simply guitarists, it can also be used with bassists, drummers, singers and even keyboardists. It provides many different features that make it stand out among other delay modelers.
To maintain the quality of the music, the DL4 provides a 24-bit true stereo signal path, so whatever comes in, leaves the same, sans the effect you’ve added on. Another advantage of this stompbox is that it is much smaller than a traditional delay box, allowing for extra portability in the fact of an equipment-heavy trip. Adding to this, it can also run on four C batteries to remove the need for an extra socket or you can simply use the PX-2G power adapter if the option is there.
The classic delay models are not the only thing the Line 6 has going for it; it also provides choruses and vibratos that came with those sounds, as well as several enhanced features, such as the Auto-Volume Echo and Reverse Delay.
The DL4 has four footswitches, allowing for simple, yet sturdy use. The six knobs provide customization of the sound and make it easy to switch between delay models. Furthermore, it can be used with the EX-1 expression pedal to allow real time customization at ease.
